Mark Bernstein

Mark Bernstein is an American computer scientist, software designer, and writer who is known for his work in the field of hypertext and electronic literature. He is the co-founder and chief scientist of Eastgate Systems, a company that produces software for hypertext authoring and publishing. Bernstein is also the creator of Tinderbox, a personal content management system that allows users to create, organize, and analyze notes, ideas, and other digital content. In addition to his work in software development, Bernstein is also a writer and has authored several works of electronic literature, including "Uncle Buddy's Phantom Funhouse," which won the first Eastgate Systems Electronic Literature award in 1999.
